School Health Program (Student Eye Screening)

Many students suffer from refractive errors (myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism) and other eye-related health issues without realizing it, significantly hindering their academic performance. To address this, Al-Basar International Foundation launched a School Health Program over the past two decades in Sudan, Niger, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Yemen, in collaboration with local Ministries of Health and Education.

Program Scope

  • Targeted Conditions: Refractive errors, cataracts, strabismus, trachoma, and other eye diseases.
  • Interventions:
    • Comprehensive eye screenings
    • Free eyeglass distribution
    • Medication provision
    • Surgical referrals for critical cases

Impact (By God’s Grace)

Over 1 million students screened and treated, with results including:

  • Sudan: 750,000 students
  • Pakistan: 15,574 students
  • Niger: 91,655 students
  • Bangladesh: 203,851 student
